One of the biggest changes I made after my liver transplant wasn't a recipe—it was the way I prepared my kitchen.

Instead of starting from scratch every time I cook, I keep a few basic blends ready to go. My homemade breadcrumb blend and flour blend make it easier to prepare flavorful meals without relying on a salt shaker.

A few minutes of preparation today can save time for weeks.

What You'll Learn

In this lesson, you'll learn how preparing a few versatile ingredients ahead of time can make healthy cooking faster, easier, and more enjoyable. It's one of the core principles of the noaddedsaltguy Method: build once, use many times.

  • Granulated garlic (to taste)
  • Dried rosemary (to taste)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Approximate Sodium

Traditional seasoned breadcrumbs often contain around 200 mg of sodium per ounce.

By combining low-carb breadcrumbs with almond flour, fresh parsley, and herbs, this blend averages approximately 150 mg of sodium per ounce while still providing plenty of flavor.

The flour blend contains very little sodium because it's built with almond flour, herbs, garlic, rosemary, and black pepper instead of salt.

What Makes This Work

This lesson isn't really about breadcrumbs or flour.

It's about preparation.

One of the principles behind the noaddedsaltguy Method is that healthy cooking shouldn't feel like starting over every night. By keeping a few versatile blends ready to use, cooking becomes faster, easier, and more enjoyable.

Mixing low-carb breadcrumbs with almond flour stretches the blend, lowers the sodium per ounce, and creates a light, flavorful coating. The fresh parsley, garlic, rosemary, and black pepper build flavor naturally instead of depending on added salt.

The flour blend follows the same philosophy. A single batch can be used again and again, making weeknight cooking quicker while producing flavorful meals.

Small habits like these make healthy cooking easier—and those habits add up over time.
